# A space for a club, class or hobby group — without running a server

> A channel takes about thirty seconds to make and needs no moderation bots, no roles and no server to run.

## Who this is for

Anyone organising a book club, running club, study group, band or society.

## The problem

Discord is overwhelming and its public servers are a stranger-danger problem. A group chat has no structure. A Facebook group means Facebook.

## How Naven handles it

- Create a public or invite-only channel in a few seconds — no roles, no permission matrix, no bots to configure.
- Members post with a source, so a channel stays useful rather than becoming noise.
- Invite by link; members join in a browser without installing anything.
- No algorithmic ranking — the channel is chronological, so the thing posted most recently is the thing at the top.

## What it costs

Nothing. Naven is free, with no advertising, no paid tier and no data sale. There is no card, no trial and no phone number.
