# Messaging for schools and libraries on managed devices

> A browser tab is the entire technical requirement. There is no app to approve, no store account, and no phone number.

## Who this is for

Teachers, librarians and IT staff running managed Chromebooks or locked-down desktops.

## The problem

Nothing can be installed on a managed device, most messengers are blocked outright, and the ones that are not have no meaningful safety story.

## How Naven handles it

- Runs entirely in the browser, so there is nothing to install and nothing for device management to approve.
- Pre-send screening against a published policy, plus age bands and verified parental consent (COPPA) before an under-13 account can send.
- No public directory and no algorithmic feed, so there is no discovery surface pointing students at strangers.
- Channels give a class or club a space without running a server.

## What it costs

Nothing. Naven is free, with no advertising, no paid tier and no data sale. There is no card, no trial and no phone number.
