Dark mode
A colour scheme with light text on a dark background, usually following a system setting.
Browsers expose the operating system's preference to pages, so a site can match without asking. Done properly it is a second full palette rather than an inverted first one: pure black text on white becomes off-white on near-black, because pure white on pure black glares.
Contrast requirements apply to both, and a palette that passes in light often fails in dark.
Where Naven stands
Naven follows the system setting and can be overridden per account, with both palettes checked for contrast.
