Do you need a SIM card or mobile service to use Naven?
No. Naven works over any internet connection — Wi-Fi is enough. There is no phone number involved, so a tablet, an iPod, a laptop or a phone with no SIM all work the same.
This is the practical consequence of not using phone numbers as identifiers. A device without mobile service is a full participant rather than a second-class one.
It matters for families handing down an old phone to a child, for anybody travelling without a local SIM, and for tablet-only users.
Everything including voice and video calls runs over the data connection.
