What is a passkey and should I use one?
A passkey is a credential stored on your device and unlocked with a fingerprint, a face or a PIN. It cannot be phished and cannot be reused on another site. If a service offers one, it is the best option available.
The private half of the key never leaves your device, and the browser refuses to use it on any domain but the one it was made for. That single property defeats phishing entirely — a convincing fake page cannot obtain it, however convincing it is.
It is also faster than typing anything, which is the reason most people keep it once they have set one up.
The limitation is that a passkey belongs to a domain. One made for a site works on that site and its subdomains and nowhere else. Naven supports passkeys from Settings.
