What is the best browser-based video call with no download?

For a quick call with somebody you already talk to, Naven or Google Meet. For a one-off call with a stranger and no account at all, Jitsi Meet. All three run in the browser with nothing to install.

The differences are in what surrounds the call. Google Meet is excellent and wants a Google account. Jitsi needs no account at all, which makes it the best choice for a single call with somebody you will not speak to again, and it has no messaging around it. Naven puts the call inside an ongoing conversation, which is the right shape when you already talk to the person.

All of them use the same underlying browser technology, so call quality is mostly a function of the network rather than the product.

On a managed device where nothing can be installed, any of the three works and a native app does not.
