How do I add Naven to my phone's home screen?
In Safari, tap Share then Add to Home Screen. In Chrome on Android, open the menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. It gives Naven an icon and, on an iPhone, is required before notifications will work at all.
Adding a site to the home screen installs it as a progressive web app: it gets its own icon, opens in its own window without browser chrome, and can register for background notifications.
On Android this is close to a native app. On an iPhone or iPad it is the only route to notifications — Safari refuses to deliver web push to a site that has not been added this way, which catches a lot of people out.
Nothing is downloaded from an app store, and it can be removed like any other icon.
