Is Naven end-to-end encrypted?
No, and Naven says so plainly. Messages are screened against twelve published categories before they send, and a server that cannot read a message cannot screen it. The two cannot both be true.
Traffic is encrypted in transit, which is what protects it from anybody on the network in between. What is not true is that the server cannot read it — it can, because reading it is how the screen works.
This is the central trade Naven makes, and it is the reason the product exists. A platform that screens before delivery stops a harmful message arriving at all, rather than removing it hours after it has done its damage.
Anybody whose first requirement is end-to-end encryption should use Signal. That is on Naven's own comparison pages, because a comparison that concedes nothing is an advert.
