What happens when you report somebody?
On Naven, a person reads it. You choose a category — harassment, a threat, sexual content, endangering a child, self-harm, hate, spam, or something else — and can add a note.
Reporting is separate from blocking on purpose. Blocking protects you immediately and needs no reason; reporting is how something gets looked at, and it does not require you to also block.
A report cannot be withdrawn once read, which is worth knowing before sending one.
Many of the categories are also screened before delivery, so the messages that would prompt a report often never arrive.
