How to get back into your account
Naven signs you in with a code emailed to your address. If you can read the address, you can get in — which is also the thing to plan around if you might lose it.
Step by step
-
Enter your email address as usual
The same address you signed up with.
-
Check spam if the code does not arrive
A six-digit code from an unfamiliar sender is a common false positive.
-
Send another if it is still missing
The old one stops working.
-
If you have a passkey, use that instead
It does not involve the inbox at all.
Worth knowing
- Losing the email address means losing the account, because the code is the only proof. This is the honest weakness of code sign-in.
- A passkey set up in advance is the way around it. It takes about thirty seconds from Settings.
- An account set up by an organisation can have a recovery address added instead.
Questions
What if I no longer have access to my email?
Without a passkey or a recovery address there is no way to prove the account is yours. Set one up before you need it.
The code is not arriving. What now?
Check spam, then request another. If your provider is blocking it entirely, try a different address.
Can I change the email address on my account?
An address can be added and confirmed from Settings.
