Discord is better for this in almost every way and anybody who can use it should. Naven is for the case where Discord is blocked on the device or the network the group actually has.

Small groups of friends who play together and are mostly under eighteen.
How it is usually set up
A channel for planning and a voice call when playing.
What Naven does not claim
Naven promises no security and no moderation. Messages are screened before they send against twelve published categories, by software written by one person — it misses things, and it is weaker in languages other than English. Calls are not screened at all. Naven is not end-to-end encrypted, which is what makes screening possible; anyone whose first requirement is end-to-end encryption should use Signal.
