A study group that can share notes, not screenshots

Shared notes in a group chat are six screenshots of the same page. A canvas is one document that stays current.

Who this is for

Students revising together across schools, colleges and time zones.

What it looks like in Naven: a screenshot of the app.

How it is usually set up

A canvas per topic that everybody edits, questions asked of the conversation itself, and voice notes for when typing the explanation would take longer than saying it.

What Naven does not claim

Naven promises no security and no moderation. Messages are screened before they send against twelve published categories, by automated software — it misses things, and it is weaker in languages other than English. Calls are not screened at all. Naven is not end-to-end encrypted, which is what makes screening possible; anyone whose first requirement is end-to-end encryption should use Signal.

What it costs

Nothing. Naven is free, with no advertising, no paid tier and no data sale.

Naven is a free messenger that runs in your browser. No phone number, nothing to install, and no new password.
