GDPR
The EU's data protection regulation.
It requires a lawful basis for processing personal data, grants rights of access, correction, deletion and portability, and requires that data collection be minimised to what is necessary. It applies to anybody serving EU residents, wherever they are.
Its most visible consequence is the consent banner, which is mostly a symptom of advertising rather than of the law itself.
Where Naven stands
Naven denies analytics storage in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland by default, so no analytics cookie is set there and no consent banner is needed.
