Reaction
A small response attached to a message rather than sent as one.
An acknowledgement that costs nothing and does not add to the unread count. In a large group it replaces dozens of one-word messages, which is a real reduction in noise.
It is also a low-effort signal of agreement, which makes it useful for quick decisions and useless for considered ones.
