Age band
A coarse age range used to set protections without recording an exact age.
Storing under-13, 13-17 and adult rather than a date of birth gives a service what it needs for policy and denies it a precise identifier. It is a straightforward privacy improvement that costs nothing.
The bands usually follow the legal thresholds in the relevant jurisdictions.
Where Naven stands
Naven's protection level is derived from a band. The birth year is never stored.
